What are the requirements for a PDF file to be used in 1000°ePaper Studio?
To successfully create an ePaper, the PDF file must meet the following requirements:
- 1000°ePaper Standard: max. 50MB, max. 500 pages
- 1000°ePaper Professional: max. 600MB, max. 2000 pages
The following tips have proven their worth when creating a 1000° ePaper:
If you save a PDF file in compatibility with “Acrobat 4.0 or higher”, i.e. as PDF version 1.4, transparencies are automatically reduced.
The same applies if you comply with the PDF/A-1b standard. According to this standard, transparency is also not permitted.
Transparencies in a PDF file are the most common cause of display and performance problems. Reduce all layers in the PDF to just one visible layer.
This means that your ePaper is rendered quickly and is less prone to errors during conversion.
The recommended resolution for images and graphics is 150 dpi. This is usually sufficient for a good display, even when zooming into the ePaper
and ensures optimum performance. As a general rule, the larger the images in a PDF file, the larger the amount of data that is transmitted to
your readers via the Internet. Loading times can be correspondingly longer.
Make sure that the PDF file is created in RGB color space to avoid color distortions. The RGB mode is used for display on all screens.
